Specifications of Military Jungle Boots

Military Jungle Boots are designed to provide maximum support, comfort, and protection for soldiers in jungle or wet environments. They must meet the standards of both the United States Army and Marine Corps. These boots should include features such as an all-leather upper for durability and water-resistance, a two-density midsole and rubber outsole for cushioning, and a non-slip sole for improved traction in wet and muddy conditions.

Upper

The upper of the Military Jungle Boots must be constructed from a single layer of leather for durability and water-resistance. This layer should be at least 0.05 inches thick. The upper should feature lugs or treads for improved traction in wet and muddy conditions.

The upper should be stitched together using Kevlar-reinforced threads. At least two rows of stitching should be used to ensure the integrity of the stitching and to prevent the upper from coming apart in adverse conditions. The stitching should use a lockstitch pattern to protect against rapid unraveling.

The ankle area should be adjustable to ensure a proper fit. The upper should have adjustable loops on either side of the ankle area to ensure a snug fit on most foot types. It should also have a durable fabric gusset to cover the underside of the foot and wiast area.

The tongue should be constructed of lightweight leather and have a cushioned pad.

The toe box should be reinforced with a vinyl or leather overlay to protect the toes from abrasion and fatigue.

Midsole

The midsole of the Military Jungle Boots should be constructed from two-density foam for cushioning and impact protection. The foam should be at least 0.25 inches thick and should be positioned at the heel and toe area for cushioning and stability.

The midsole should also have an arch shank to provide arch support and prevent arch collapse caused by long-term wear or the stress of hiking in heavy terrain.

Outsole

The outsole of the Military Jungle Boots should be constructed from rubber. The rubber should be at least 0.25 inches thick and should be a non-marking compound to reduce the risk of slipping on wet and muddy surfaces. The outsole should also feature lugs for improved traction in wet and muddy conditions. An additional 0.25 inches of rubber should be present at the heel to provide additional cushioning.

Sole

The Military Jungle Boots should feature a non-slip sole for improved traction on wet and muddy surfaces. The sole should be constructed from leather, nylon, a rubber compound, or a combination of these materials. The sole should be at least 0.05 inches thick and should be large enough to cover the entire foot area.

Gussets

The Military Jungle Boots should also feature durable fabric gussets to cover the underside of the foot and wiast area. These gussets should be constructed from a breathable, water-resistant material to protect the feet from moisture and sweat.

Other Features

The Military Jungle Boots should also be designed to meet the following other features:

• Durable construction material: leather and synthetic textile with reinforced thread
• Foam or leather padding at the collar, tongue, and heel for extra comfort
• Tongue that is constructed of lightweight leather and have a cushioned pad for additional comfort
• A loop at the top for easy on/off and lacing
• Eyelets for lacing that are reinforced for durability
• Butyl and GORETEX lining for additional waterproofing
• Durable soles for improved traction and improved comfort
• Anti-microbial footbed and midsole to fight bacteria growth, odor, and sweat
